Efficacy of eight fungicides viz. Tilt 250 EC (0.05%), Farzim 50 WP (0.1%), Onthan 80 WP (0.2%), Propicon 250 EC (0.05%), Sunconazole 250 EC (0.05%) and Dentol 80 WP (0.2%), Baizeb 80 WP (0.2%) and Shadid 250 EC (0.05%) to control the leaf blight (caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana) of wheat were studied under natural field condition at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute during the year of 2005 to 2008. All the fungicides reduced the disease and increase the grain yield of the crop. Tilt 250 EC was found to be the best for controlling leaf blight of wheat followed by Propicon 250 EC and Sunconazole 250 EC were found as and economically viable. Among the fungicide groups, propiconazole group were found to be better than carbendazim and mancozeb group in terms of controlling leaf blight of wheat and economic point of view.Download
